Once seafood is harvested, its quality can only be maintained, not improved upon. At North Shore Seafoods, we believe that it is our responsiblity to offer the best of the in-season fresh catch, and we have found that the best way to ensure this is to expedite your seafood - no storefront required and delivered right to your door.
We are diligent to bring the fresh catch straight from the fishermen in Alaska, and other parts of the world. In-season fresh catch is available at the store in limited amounts, for a limited time. We have strict quality policies and do not hold any fresh seafood beyond a specific time after harvest. Because we receive our seafood via express shipments from the fishermen, we know exactly where the seafood comes from, and exactly when it was harvested and inspected. Our in-season fresh catch can usually be reserved in advanced, we will try to announce the fresh shipments via Facebook, Twitter, or on our Specials page - right here on our website.
Our fresh frozen catch is also available for pre-order straight from the best Alaskan and Northwestern processing facilities, and is available year round.
Is Fresh Better than Frozen?
We believe that in Indiana, fresh flash-frozen or FAS (Frozen at Sea) is better. However, we also believe that in order to be as lucky as those who live near coastal areas, the next best thing is getting in-season fresh catch that is expedited via air shipments straight from the docks after inspection.
